Puppetry

What does come to mind when you hear the
word Puppetry............

  • String puppets
  • Marionettes
  • Glove puppets
  • Hand puppets
  • Finger puppets
  • Cone puppets
  • Puppet Theater
  • Puppet Show
Also...what emotions comes out of Puppetry...............................?
  • laughter.......................
  • sadness.........
  • anxiety...
Do you think it is a good way of someone expressing himself...?

Put yourself in a child's situation....
  • perhaps you are not a child who finds it very easy to express yourself.....
  • not comfortable talking to your parents or siblings....
  • not very self confident.....
  • not very talkative....
Puppets.....hmmmmm! Now I think there is an answer for the above...
  • puppets are a great medium for kids to express their feelings...
  • if a child has a problem...more than likely if he has a puppet he will use puppet to say what he is feeling inside!
  • kids with learning difficulties such as speech problem & other---respond well to puppets
  • language skills
  • can help with behavior problems
  • social problems
  • story telling
Last but not least Puppets are a lot of fun...anyone can be a child again.....They are ideal for any age group...
  • One can introduce them to babies by Parents take on the role of using puppets as an aid to tell stories...
  • As the child grow older they can tell their stories to their dolls or teddies ...pretend play!
  • they are great as group play...lots of fun and interaction!

One can have lot's of fun..at
  1. home
  2. playgroup
  3. birthday parties
  4. kinder
  5. child care centers
  6. school
  7. grandparent's house
Coming to think of it one can organize a theme Birthday Party...... for instance Pirate theme, Fairies theme, Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, A Royal theme

Love to hear your feelings and thoughts on this....

Hi Marthese,

This is a wonderful article into the insights of puppetry & how puppets can excite, engage & encourage the inner beauty & creativity of children. I myself am a huge fan of finger puppets & have on occasion enjoyed providing a finger puppet show for my 11 month old. She is just fascinated by the whole experience. And you are right, they are ideal for any age group lol. Thanks for the post. ♥

These are gorgeous. My four year old is always pretending her fingers are characters and playing with them talking and doing things. Would be wonderful to actually pop some finger puppets on her fingers to make her make believe world more believable!

Oh how much fun could i have with a fantastic puppet... not to mention how much fun the kids could have. Gives me lovely memories of punch and judy puppet shows when i was a little girl (oh does that give away my age even just a little lol)

Thanks to 7cherubs for the link to here... now to convince hubby about the purchases i want to make :)

Someone scared my son with a puppet when he was smaller, so after a lot of confidence building and play with puppets, he has since fallen in love with them.
I just showed him the photo's of your delightful puppets, and he noticed the pirate and said 'Argh.!! WOW.!!'. I think he's a fan, haha.
Stopping by from Seven Cherubs :) :)

Also visiting via Seven Cherubs.  My 7yo son loves puppets. Yours are truly delightful! As a Mum to kids with special needs, I can attest to the value of puppets, they can truly make a huge difference to the way they learn things that society views as being 'the norm'.  Thank you for sharing your beautiful products.

Visiting via Seven Cherubs. I've always wanted a marionette :-) My sons love playing with hand puppets at the moment (they are 3 1/2 and 14 months) but I hope to one day introduce them to marionettes. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway.

I love puppets and so does our eldest daughter. She thinks it is great to put on a voice and the puppet have a chat with her. We don't have a marionette  only hand and finger puppets but she would be fascinated by a marionette. She loves playing with puppets and toys and it helps build her confidence with talking and people talking to each other. Puppets and marionettes I agree are a great way to express emotions and for role play.

Visiting via Seven Cherubs. Wow, these are so beautiful. My three amigos love to play with their finger puppets and I could just imagine how much fun they would have with a marionette. I most certainly think one of these beautiful toys will be finding their way onto our list to Father Christmas!

I agree completely of the value of puppets to children and use them a lot as a teacher.  I find them invaluable in getting some of my quieter students to open up, practice their oral language and retelling skills, and helping them to share their feelings.  Super!
(I saw your puppets on Seven Cherubs).
