Wooden Toy Picket Fences
This is not an exciting or great product to talk about, but stop there for a moment and I want you to put on your thinking caps!
- farm animals
- an extension to a barn set
- zoo set
You will find that a lot of the sets do not have enough fences to challenge them
Some other great ideas to use with is
- train sets
- road play
- garage
- doll house play
What about a construction activity:
- stacking on top of each other...they are very sturdy pieces..and so children will not get frustrated using them. (manipulative skills)
- (sorting) small or big
I would like to ask you what other options or ideas that one can use these fences for... It is great to hear from those especially that work with kids, what your thoughts are and what come to mind?

That's a good one for a "pretend play" session with kids.

Love the fences! I would use them at work (early intervention) with my hearing impaired kids for naming/sorting all sorts of things - animals/vehicles/shapes/colours... but I would have to keep them away from my own 2 boys who LOVE making and playing zoos/castles/farms etc. (and would then of course beg for more of their favourite schliech animals to go with the fences!)

These are awesome, I was excited to see them on Marita's blog - looking for some accessories for my son's schleich animals, I am trying to encourage him to play with more than toy cars!

we cou;d use them to keep the cars from getting on the train track, somehow Mummy always manages to get a car on the railway much to her disgust, silly Mummy ;-) they make great gates in Duplo as well.

my kids stack them taller to when the animals are dangerous ones . we have two sets and love them .

My kids (x3.5) would love these for all kinds of imaginary play - keeping animals in, or out; as a ladder to scale a lego building; as part of an obstacle course for little figurines... I would love to see what else they come up with! Thanks for the great giveaway.

I love toys that help stir kids' imagination. My oldest is only 18 months, but he is really starting to experiment with building/connecting/imagination type toys. SO fun to watch and would love to add something like this to our small collection! :) Thanks for offering!

(I've been here before though - think I'm going to get addicted to checking out your toys..)My little one is only 9mo, so we're just beginning to play with our 'Animalz' - I've been building 'enclosures' that she knocks down and then the animals escape from and run around the loungeroom floor! I think these fences would be fun for that too :)We have a farm and Daddy moves fences to let the cows in to the oats - or to keep them out! - and I can see us using them in 'real-life imitative play' too.
